AI (Artificial Intelligence) is starting to appear everywhere. One of the big talking points is that it will eliminate the need for travel agents/advisors. While I am confident that isn’t going to happen in the expedition, exotic and luxury travel world, because of the intricacies of personal desires and differences in offered experiences versus AI’s limitation of basically regurgitating unverified information from only more internet-popular sites, there are some ways that AI can improve the travel writer/advisor – client and reader relationships.
For the past year or so, I have been using Grammarly. This AI agent originally checked my writing for spelling and grammar errors and has now developed into suggesting the rewriting of sentences and paragraphs. While I do “fight” with it as it tries to improvidently re-write my thoughts to mean something else, and it does at times improperly auto-correct my spelling and grammar, overall, it has been a big assist that, hopefully, has improved your ability to enjoy my articles without cringing at some of my writing errors.
I am now integrating Goldring Travel’s newsletters into Making Waves Articles using Zapier. So now all of my newsletters will also be posted as articles for all to read.
Most exciting for me, however, is the newest step: You having the option to listen to my Making Waves Articles in my computer-generated voice, using Everlit, another AI agent. (This will not play automatically, so don’t worry.) And, as with most AI agents, do not expect it to read everything perfectly, but it will be close and will get better over time. I feel it is important for my voice to be used, so you know the articles are mine and I stand behind them.
There is another aspect of Everlit that I will eventually be using: Creating podcasts from my long history of articles that you can listen to on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. My idea is to put together playlists on topics such as Antarctica, Africa, International Dining Experiences, Luxury Cruises, etc. Hopefully, this will be up and running later this year. Fingers Crossed and I will keep you posted.
If you have any ideas, comments, suggestions, or criticisms about Goldring Travel’s use of AI, please let me know. I want to make the most of these new AI tools to enhance your experience while making sure the personal touches that Goldring Travel provides are improved, not taken over!
